In December 2006 Marcel Wanders invited creative industry to rent a space in the Westerhuis, located strategically in Amsterdam's Jordaan quarter. The Westerhuis-project has now been realised by Marcel Wanders and Aedes Real Estate and a diverse range of creative companies is now based in the former school-building. The characteristic building has become a flagship for art and cultural entrepreneurship; a positive impulse for the city centre's creative industry, and a magnet for both locals and national and international visitors.
